For many years I have worked for a large company in their Project Management Division. A large part of my time was devoted to ensuring client satisfaction with all aspects of the project at hand. While I had job satisfaction at the end of a successful project, it was not giving me the personal satisfaction that I needed.
How do I satisfy my need for 'wanting to do something worthwhile'?
Through watching some friends go through the Aged Care process with their mum or dad, I saw a need that I wanted to fill. I have always enjoyed helping people and find that I enjoy the company of older people, and they seem to enjoy mine. I believed that I had the skills and motivation to provide a level of support to both older persons and their families that was currently lacking.
I decided to change industries, resigned my position, completed an Aged Services course and started Specialised Assistance Services!
The aim of Specialised Assistance Services is to provide older persons with the one on one attention that they want, need and deserve.
I also saw a real need to support the families of these older loved ones as they tried to juggle many work and family commitments.
Families are busy places, and for whatever reason, you may not be able to visit mum or dad regularly or attend regular or emergency hospital appointments with them. You may want them to attend important family functions but you struggle with the time demands required to look after them before, during and after the event.
You can call me and we can do it together.
